Child Safe Policies

In response to the Betrayal of Trust Report, the Victorian Government has introduced compulsory minimum standards (Child safe Standards), to ensure child safe environments. The standards seek to insure the protection of children from abuse in organisations that work with children. All Victorian schools are required to with the Child Safe Standards, as stipulated by the Minister for Education in Ministerial Order 870 – Child Safe standards, from August 2016.

Lighthouse Christian College maintains a strong focus on the safety and wellbeing of all student who attend the College. Our policies, procedures and guidelines support our practices and enable ongoing compliance with legislative requirements for safe environment for children of all ages. The College has developed a range of policies and resources that are designed to promote a culture of child safety:

  • Child Safe Code of Conduct
  • Child Safe Policy
  • Child Safe Program Complaints
  • Complaints Handling Procedure
  • Child Safe Reporting Process
  • Lighthouse Christian College Complaints Handling Policy and Procedure
  • Reportable Conduct Policy
  • Mandatory Report Documentation Form

All adults working at the College (including staff, volunteers, contractors etc.) are required to abide by the Child Safe Policy and comply with the Child Safe Code of Conduct. Copies of documents relating to the Child Safe Standards can be accessed by clicking on the document links below.
